Oh hey! Would you mind inviting our podcast into your phone....Why you say? No reason. Vampire podcast?!? Of course we're not! Damn, IT was worth a shot. You know what else is worth a shot...reading 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King!! Such a wonderful month and such a perfect book for this month. Stephen kept us on the edge of our seats for this one! On the final episode of BOOktober we share our quick and easy guide for how to survive a vampire outbreak by 1) leaving immediately and indefinitely, and finally 2) making a vampire pact, so that if one of turns they won't be alone for long. A pre invitation so to speak. We also discuss the complexities of King's character's and the beauty of his world building. I can literally see the Lot perfectly in my mind. We finish with a review of the ending/epilogue/prologue and a deep dive into just how sexy Stephen King really is. Skeptics beware! Then we move into 2 high profile murder cases, surrounding the actions of Anne Perry and Michael Peterson, that have each had several movies and tv shows made about them. Pretty big one's too! We're talking Netflix and Peter Jackson here people. Then we close up the haunted bookshelf with a few crimes to go that you can enjoy on the road. It's a book week AND it's been one of the best yet! The bell has wrung, we're seated at our desks with pen and paper and Bonnie Garmus is ready to school us on some chemistry. But more importantly, Bonnie provides a glimpse into the history of gender inequality and guides us, men with natural privilege, through how we can be advocates and allies in the fight for equality. Spoiler alert...we can't get enough of this book and our core cast of characters. Obviously starting with our wonderful and amazing protagonist Elizabeth Zott. And how could we forget about the dynamic duo of Mads and a Zott's best friend 6:30. We discuss the setting, the supporting cast, and our dream tv hosting gigs. But above all else, we discuss the social and moral implications of the actions of those in the book and of people in the world today. We have unending gratitude and appreciation for all of you who provided us with perspective for this book/episode and reminded us of the tools that we all possess to help and assist in this ongoing fight.
